Collect them:
In January 2006, I bought a scanner. A part of the digitization, I scanned notebooks and resumes. The piled up bundle contents turned into digital pictures. I made into Jpeg and PDF files.
I considered buying a computer:
First, I looked for a PC not too expensive, heavy,and large.
I needed long-life battery.
I found Intel PentiumM Processor consumes less electric power than CeleronM Processor. The former one has some energy conservation technologies but it is expensive. Choosing it, the price might be above the budget.
Though I looked up about AMD processor, they were less energy conservation than PentiumM.
To tell the truth, I would like Tablet PC. If I use it, I can write down on the display directly. OneNote and a tablet PC is the most suitable combination. This plan suspended because of the budget.
Instead of this plan, I planned a laptop computer with a digitalizing tablet. It did not write on the monitor directly. I thought I have troubled until I am used to.
After all, I bought a computer with PentiumM Processor. I would like higher performance computer and everlasting to use it.It is just expensive...
The computer I ordered from D**L,

Monitor:14.1inch wide
Weight:2.65kg(include battery, exclude peripherals)
Size:330mm*250mm*33mm(width*depth*height)
I think I don't have to hide company name...
It's *EL*, get it?
The model seems inexpensive, but beginners difficult to use it because
few softwares are installed and they may wander what they do, I think.

What is necessary? Hardwares:
1)a Laptop computer
At least work more than 3 hours till running down a battery.It lectures 3 hours a day.
I would like Its price to be as lower as possible. I budget about 100,000Yen.
Its size and weight, too. Everyday I am to carry it.
I need the performance which Windows XP and office can work.
2)a Scanner
about 15000Yen
I will not scan fine pictures, but I will do thick books. CCD scanner may scan solid object such as book's center hollow.
3)a Digitizing Tablet
about 15000Yen
Need width some extent. I will not draw fine picture, either.
4)Power cable
In case run down the battery, I will get electricity from outlet.
Usually I think the outlet is not near. It may not reach by attached cable.
Softwares:
1) OneNote
I will note using it. I can note for it freely.
2) Other office softwares
I will make reports by Word and I will analyze some experiment data by Excel.
3) OS system
It does not need to explain about this software.
Total price 150,000Yen

What do I do first?:
Digitalizing suddenly, it is hard to do without enough equipment. To begin with, I start to collect information such as "What is nessesary" or "How do other people think about digitalization".
What do my friends think?:
I asked my university friends about digitalization. They all had some objection.
"Now we are good enough paper-base notes."
"It is trouble to carry computer. It is heavy and fragile. You must pay attention."
Next, I inquired professor in charge of us. He was not agree, either.
"You may not learn about lecture with typing notes. You should study writing more than typing. But without business conference."
I wrote about it on Internet BBS. Someone replied to a question.
"Nobody brings computer. How on earth do you use it?"
Anyone turned a deaf ear to my opinion.
Hmm...I find myself deserted by everybody. Whoever does not understand me, I will try.

It is flashed on before winter 2005 when I had saw my friend was copying lecture notes. It is some trouble the friend could not present at the class or nod during the class copying the notes every a page. Another friend lent the notes might be inconvenient, he could not review because the notes was not in his hand.
And, one time looking for something in internet, I found the Microsoft familiar to the Windows produces a software "OneNote". If I would use it, I should note immediately. There was no choice not to use! In this way, this was one of reason for digitalization.
Once digitalization notes, copying it to something of flash memory or sending it by e-mail, I can pass my friends the notes leaving the original in my hand.
And more, I have been thought "when I put old notes to order, when on earth will the bundle of paper have been piled up till?" and "when I would like to refer the contents of the notes written before, I will trouble to look over turning over the bundle."
I imagined now is 21 century, it is good as near future that I listen to with using a laptop computer during lecture.
That's why I aim to take lecture using a laptop computer.

This blog aims to help who'd like to take lecture note digitally. It's easy to insert and delete, and easy to send your records to your friend. It's no need reserved paper.
But actually computer is heavy, expensive, and need elecric power. Taking note on PC is for the person who want advantages described above, and just about for want to do different from what others do.
